Obituary of Margaret T. Williams

Vestal - Margaret Therese Aten Williams (Maggie) passed peacefully from this life on October 31, 2021 after a brief illness at the age of 91. Maggie was born in Forty Fort Pennsylvania on May 28, 1930. She graduated from St. Anne's Academy and Wilkes College. It was at Wilkes College where she met her future husband and best friend, Charlie. They married in 1950 and spent 63 years together. Maggie and Charlie raised four children in Vestal, NY. Maggie spent many summers packing up the Scamper to take their brood on many fun, but rainy camping trips. During their later years, Maggie and Charlie enjoyed going on cruises and spending time with their family. Maggie worked for Vestal Central Schools in the Special Education Resource Room for over 20 years. She loved working with the students! After retirement, Maggie continued to work as a substitute until she was 80 years old. Maggie was also past president of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 1700, Endicott NY. Maggie was preceded in death by her husband and soul mate, Charles (Charlie), beloved son, Buzz and son in law, Gary Boll. She is survived by her children, Mary Kathleen Boll of Brackney Pa, Nancy Cahill (Philip) of Vestal, NY and Thomas Williams of Vestal, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Keith and Kevin Boll, Charlie, Derrick and Kyle Williams, Corey, Colin and Olivia Frank, Erin and Tommy Williams and great grandchildren, Brooklyn, Makenna and Noah. Maggie was a fun-loving person who loved her family with all her heart. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her. The family would like to express our sincere gratitude to the many caregivers who cared for Maggie during this challenging year; Castle Gardens Enriched Senior Living staff, staff at Wilson Hospital North Wing 3 the UHS Palliative Care Team and the angels at Mercy House. Visitation will be held on Thursday, November 4th from 5:00-7:00pm at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 756 Main St., Vestal, NY. The funeral service will be held on Friday, November 5th at 10:00 am at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, 801 Main St., Vestal, NY.
