John Vassil, 76, of Endicott, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday November 7, 2021 at his home. He was predeceased by his wife, Beverly, parents, Frank and Mary, brother, Frankie, and sister, Marylou. He is survived by his life partner, Cookie Payne, children and spouses; Kimberly (Golan) Shem-Tov, Tammy (Harry) Park, Jay (Beth) Vassil, grandchildren; Danielle, Nicole, Emma, Kaitlyn, Leah, Matthew, sister and brother-in-law, Helene (Steve) Kish, many nieces, nephews, cousins, many dear friends and extended family. John was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church in Endicott. Also, a Charter Member of the Del-Oak Rod and Gun Club since he was 16. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved camping, fishing, hunting and gardening. John also enjoyed golfing, softball, pickle ball, racquetball, and traveling. He was very proud of his property and dream house that he designed, built, and lived in. Family and friends will be received at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St. Endicott, on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. A memorial service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Wesley United Methodist Church, 1000 Day Hollow Rd. Endicott, with a luncheon to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Wesley United Methodist Church or to a charity of one's choice in his memory.
