I first met Marian when we flew from TX to visit and she immediately bonded with me over our fascination about the Amish & their lifestyle. We ended up going to Lancaster, PA together on a road trip to see them, visit the shops (which she loved, especially their quilts) & enjoy the beautiful scenery that surrounded us. We ate at an Authentic Amish restaurant and I remember how impressed she was with the entire vacation & being able to share it with me, as she had already gone many times herself. When we would visit, she would invite us into her living room (the sun room at Jim & Gails house) and show me all the lighthouses and I enjoyed hearing about each trip she took & how she saw them in person & how massive they were. She was precious with our son Joshua & joked that she loved him so much she named her cat after him...she would sit at her keyboard with our son so tiny side by side teaching him how to play. My heart was so filled with joy seeing how engaged she was with him & how excited she was to share her love of music with her Great Grandson. When we would visit she would always give our son Joshua a popsicle when he woke up... as all great grandparents do...spoil & love their great grand kids. We all loved Marian very much & she loved us. I loved her hugs...her kisses on my cheek and the love she had for our son. He was so little yet he remembers her & all they did together. She made us quilts that we still snuggle up with, now it's not only to keep warm, but to remember & cherish her by. We saw her at her best, we attended her church & saw her beautifully play the organ and at the very end just a mere week ago we saw her at her worst & it was heartbreaking to say the least. Phil, Joshua & I loved her very much. We called her, Grandma Grandma. As sad as it is that life has to end....I'm glad she's no longer in pain or suffering. I'm thankful that she's reuinted in Heaven with her dear Husband. She's at peace now, she's not hurting anymore. We love you Grandma Grandma
With all love & deep sincerity,
Stacia Loomis
