Obituary of Sharon Joy Todia

Sharon Joy Todia, 75 years young, cherished wife, mother, daughter, cousin, aunt and friend, exited stage left on November 16 following a lengthy illness, leaving a devoted audience wanting more – more time, more wit and wisdom, more…Sharon. Predeceased by her parents, Mary and Aurel (Joseph) Todia, Sharon is survived by her loving husband Peter Borgesen and son, Michael. She will be greatly missed as the fun, wisecracking and family-secret-sharing mother, wife, cousin and aunt to adoring legions of relatives. Sharon was born July 15, 1946 and lived a suburban life in Lakewood and North Olmsted, Ohio. As did many Catholic girls at the time, Sharon attended Magnificat High School, excelling at shenanigans and making a lifelong friend in Marilyn Thadeus Arko. She spent her early adult life in New York City, where she graduated from Fordham University and introduced naïve younger relatives to the wonders and realities of the big city. Sharon's studies in political science, television and film made her an articulate debater on many worldly topics. She and Peter married in 1987 and moved to Ithaca, where they then had Michael, and eventually they settled in Binghamton, NY.
