Obituary of Charles E Yoko

Charles Yoko, 75, of Apalachin, NY, passed away on November 18, 2021, following an eight month battle with pancreatic cancer. Chuck is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Donna; two daughters and sons in law, Lora and Michael Rowley, Debra and Jeffrey Schmidt. He was blessed with six grandsons, Andrew and Megan Yoko, Daniel Rowley, Jonathan and Nicole Rowley, Derek Schmidt, Mitchell Rowley and fiancé, Mallory Neira, and Benjamin Schmidt and fiancé, BillieJo Priset; two great grandsons, Dylan Yoko and Nathaniel Beck. Chuck grew up in southwestern Pennsylvania and moved to NY to start his career at IBM in Owego. After retiring from IBM and Lockheed Martin he found a new passion in the Vestal Elks, primarily with the Veterans Committee. He was especially proud of founding the Care Packages program that provided soldiers serving overseas a monthly box filled with their favorite foods and snacks from home. As well as his passion for helping the Veterans he was himself an Army veteran, avid golfer, hunter, and a diehard Steelers fan who lived his life to the fullest and who gave 100% to any project he undertook. Chuck will be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather to his family and a true and loyal friend to all who knew him. Chuck and will be held closely in our hearts and memories forever. The family will receive friends on Dec 4th 2021 from 9-11 at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Endicott followed by a funeral mass at 11am. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Vestal Elks on Sunday December 5thfrom 3-6 with a Lodge of Sorrow at 3:30.
