Charles Luciano

Obituary of Charles A Luciano

Vestal - Charlie -a cherished son, brother, uncle, and friend to the many whose lives he brightened--passed away on November 22, 2021 after a short illness at UHS Wilson Medical Center in Johnson City, NY. He was a gentle soul and tireless caregiver to all who needed help, and the chief rock of strength and inspiration for his parents and large family. He was a talented guitarist, artist and skilled craftsman who loved animals, astronomy and nature. He recently had created a heated shelter in his backyard for the use of stray animals. Charlie, a Vestal resident, played in numerous bands, including The Mob and Raphael, and lived and worked in London for part of his life. A 1979 graduate of Vestal High School, he went on to study engineering at Broome Community College. He was preceded in death by his sister Julie Luciano, brother Daniel Luciano and parents Guy and Margaret Luciano. Charlie is survived by siblings Catherine (Joseph) Harasta of Mesquite, TX, Robert (Radica) Luciano of Warwick, RI, Betsy (Kevin) Russell of Montgomery, TX, Constance Luciano Bryceland of Albuquerque, NM, and his brother Thomas Luciano of Vestal, NY, with whom Charlie shared a profound, exceptional bond. Charlie also is survived by his sister-in-law, Cheryl Luciano; nieces Lindsey, Stephanie, Valerie, Lisa, Rekha, and nephew Michael, aunts, many cousins, beloved band members (past and present), several great-nieces and great-nephews, and his "second family" Brigitte and Michael Lovaglia of Vestal, NY and their children Dustin, Julia, and Gina. Charlie, we love you and you will be missed terribly, forever. You truly were the best of the best in terms of humanity, humility, kindness, compassion, and grace. Services are pending. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to an animal rescue organization you respect and trust.
