Obituary of Laura Mysnyk

Laura Mysnyk, 95, of Vestal, went to be with the Lord on November 30, 2021 with family by her side. She was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, George. Laura loved spending time with family, short visits, or family trips. She will be lovingly remembered by her family. Her children; Marilyn (Phil) Nelson, Mark (Lisa) Mysnyk, and Myra (Rick) Banke, her 10 grandchildren; Eric(Angie), Michaela (Matt), Liesel (James), Michael (Hannah), Haylee, Mackenzie(Megan), Daniel, Mary, Rachael (Jon), Eva (Aaron), and 8 great grandchildren Andrea, Quinten, Colson, Dakota, Nolan, Drustan, Aksel, Mark, Deacon, and a new great granddaughter on the way. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews and others who viewed her as a second mother. Laura had a Servant's Heart, starting with becoming a nurse. She was involved in all aspects of her children's activities – Scouting, starting and then coaching in the Vestal Cinderella Softball League, assisting at Little League Games. She was active with the Vestal Boosters Club. Later in life she volunteered with the Vestal Ambulance Squad, Meals on Wheels, AARP Tax Service. She was always helping neighbors any way she could, even shoveling others sidewalks even when she was 90. Most recently she made and donated over 300 Fleece blankets to Project Linus, which provides blankets to children in need. We would like to thank the staff of 3NT at Wilson Hospital, who took such wonderful care of mom. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 6519 Rt 434 Apalachin, NY on Friday from 4 to 6 pm. A Service to celebrate her life will be held on Saturday at Vestal United Methodist Church, where she has been a long time member, 328 Main St, Vestal, NY at 4:30. Burial will be Monday, 9:45am, at Vestal Hills Memorial Park, meet at the office. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Alzheimer's Association, Central New York Chapter, P.O. Box 12226, Syracuse NY 13218, or the charity of your choice, in memory of this special lady, Laura Mysnyk.
