Obituary of Barbara K Mizener

Barbara Kepler Mizener passed away on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at The Jewish Home of Central New York in Syracuse. She was born on December 24, 1937 in Watertown, NY. She was predeceased by her parents, John and Mary Kepler, and her loving companion Raymond Warrick. She is survived by her brother Jack (Joan) of North Stonington, CT; 5 children: Debra (John) Hratko of Mesa, AZ; Dale (Cindy) Mizener of Mason, OH; Melissa (Jeff) Rodford of Brewerton, NY; Michael Mizener of Brewerton, NY; and Patrick (Yvonne) Mizener of Sayer, PA; 17 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. Barbara is a graduate of Liverpool High School (1955) and Crouse-Irving School of Nursing (1958). She retired from Broome County Development Center in 1999 where she served as a Registered Nurse. She was also a member of the Vestal Fire Department Company #2 Auxiliary for many years. Ever a nurse, she will be remembered for her dedicated and loving care for countless family, friends, neighbors and patients. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Crouse Health Foundation, 736 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210 to further the work of the Pomeroy College of Nursing at Crouse Hospital. Calling hours will be at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home 765 Main Street Vestal, NY on Wednesday, December 8th 5:00 – 7:00 PM and Thursday, December 9th 10:00 – 11:00 AM, followed by a brief service and burial at Vestal Hills Memorial Park.
