Obituary of Raymond N Wright

Raymond N. Wright, 87, Endicott, NY, beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle and friend passed away December 3, 2021, after an extended illness. The family would like to thank Rev. Charles Opondo-Owara for his presence during Raymond's final hours. Raymond was predeceased by his parents, Katherine and Henry Harrison Wright; his infant son, Raymond Jr.; and his twin brother, Ronald. Ray was born in Brooklyn, NY. He honorably served in the United States Navy during the Korean War. He is survived by the love of his life for 63 years, wife, Mary Alice, and his eight children: Steven (Mary Bridget), Fairfax, VA; Joseph (Anna), Vestal, NY; Daniel (Lori), Wake Forest, NC; Mary Beth (Terry) Titman, Fort Mill, SC; Judith, Vestal, NY; Thomas (Nicole), Raleigh, NC; Theresa (Joseph) Gasior, Endicott, NY; Katherine (Thomas) Evans, Endicott, NY; and darling African daughter, Sister Mary Jane Athieno; twenty-three grandchildren: Kristin, Rachael, Phillip, Stephanie, David, Marianna, Christopher, Rebecca, Patrick, Danielle, Jennifer, Adam, Emily, Meghan, Kate, Andrew, Mark, Eric Raymond, Lillian, Jack, Ella, Paul, and Grace. Great grandchildren include Alice, Esther, Ethan Raymond, Jacob, Nicholas, Luna, Henry, Ava, Charlie, Noah, Karmyn, Ashton, Theo, Damian, and Olivia; and several nieces and nephews. Raymond retired in 1999 from Lockheed Martin and General Electric, where he served as an electrical engineer and manager working on many modern flight control systems for the United States Military. He was well respected by his coworkers. As a long time member of St. Ambrose Parish, he was a member of the Nocturnal Adoration Society and a daily communicant, with a great devotion to our Blessed Mother. He was loved by all who knew him. Everybody loved Raymond. His charisma and his ability to make people smile were two of his greatest gifts. He took significant pride in his family and considered them his greatest accomplishment and treasure. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, December 10th, at 10:00 a.m., at St. Ambrose Catholic Church, Endicott. The family will receive friends at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, Endicott, on Thursday, December 9th, from 4:00pm - 7:00pm.
