Charlotte Post Berchof Vestal, N.Y. Charlotte Post Berch, a resident of Vestal, New York, passed away at age 90 at the Hilltop Nursing Home on October 5, 2008. She was born in Suffern, New York on February 17, 1918. Charlotte graduated from high school in Patterson, New Jersey and pursued a career as an elementary school teacher after attending New Paltz Normal School and New York University. She married Donald Post in 1945 and settled in Cold Spring, New York. After retiring from her teaching career, Charlotte worked part-time as a professional flower arranger, and subsequently, as a tour guide at Boscobel, a historical restoration along the Hudson River. Charlotte loved traveling and enjoyed many adventures on trips all over the United States and the world. She moved to Vestal in 1993 to be near her daughter's family. Charlotte will be dearly missed for her love and devotion to her family, kindness towards others, dedication to her church and outgoing personality. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Sharlee and Herbert Montague, residents of Vestal; her two grandchildren, Timothy and Julianne Montague; her son, Jeffrey Post, a resident of Phoenix, Arizona; two nephews and several cousins. Charlotte would want to thank her doctor, Barbara Chaffee and the nurses, aides and staff at Castle Gardens Senior Living Center, Lourdes Hospice and Hilltop Nursing Home for the kindness, care and compassion she received from them during the last few years of her life. The family will receive friends at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home at 300 East Main Street in Endicott, N.Y. on Friday, October 10, between 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. A Memorial Service for Charlotte will be held at St. Andrews Anglican Church at 1013 Front Street, Vestal, on Saturday, October 11, at 11:00 a.m. She will be interred next to her husband, Donald, at the cemetery in Cold Spring, N.Y. on October 14. In lieu of flowers, friends who wish to may make donations to the American Cancer Society, the American Diabetes Association or the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (ASPCA).
