Obituary of Frank Haus

Frank Haus Jr. of Vestal Frank Haus Jr. of Vestal passed away on Friday, December 4, 2009 at the Vestal Nursing Home after a short illness. He was born in Masten, PA on October 4, 1924 and lived nearly all his life in Vestal. He was predeceased by his wife, Leona (Watts) Haus of 60 years; infant son, Frank Haus III; his parents, Frank and Edna; brothers, Willard, Clarence, Donald, Curtis, Howard; sisters, Lila, Betty and his cat, Tinkerbell. He is survived by a son, James Haus; daughter and son-in-law, Terry and Bill Kucera and his granddaughter, Chenoa Kucera, who he loved very much. He is also survived by sister and brother-in-laws, Frances Haus, Shirley Watts, Marylu & Gerald Baird, Peggy Harrison, Phyllis Haus, Dawn Watts, George Fuller, and many nieces and nephews. Frank retired from Barney & Dickenson, then delivered flowers for Edelweiss Florist, ended his working career in the bakery at Wegmans. Frank never graduated from high school but rather chose to join the Army during World War II. He was in the 97th Infantry Trident and toured France, Germany, Czechoslovkia ending in Japan. He was a member/past master of Vestal Masonic Lodge. Kalurah Shrine (Shrine clown), past Dad Advisor of DeMolay and Triangle. He loved hunting, fishing, camping and going to his granddaughter's sport events. Thanks to the nurses/aides at Lourdes and Vestal Nursing Home. Special thanks to Dr's Bartoli, Piller, Rai, McCarville, and special friends Lois, Tanya, Walt, Mary S., Mary L. and Marge. The funeral service will be held 11:00 AM Monday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 765 Main St., Vestal. The Rev. Jose Valencia will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Hills Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
