Mary F. Morgan-Stoddard
Of Vestal
Mary F. Morgan- Stoddard, 89, a lifelong resident of Vestal, NY, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 16, 2009. Mary was born August 7, 1920 in Vestal to Marie (Stanley) Ingraham and Charles Ingraham. She is predeceased by her husbands, Arthur Morgan in 1973 and Frank Stoddard in 1998. She is survived by her children, Dean Morgan and wife, Mary Jane of Owego, Duane Morgan and wife, Susan of Vestal, and Debra Swenton and husband, Joseph of Owego. She is also survived by four grandchildren, Stacey Morgan of Vestal, William Morgan and wife, Molly of Vestal, Carrie Luke and husband, Jason of Endwell, and David Swenton of Owego; and four great-grandchildren, Owen and Larry Morgan and Abigail and Patrick Luke. She is also survived by a stepdaughter, Kathleen Walsh and husband, Bill and their four children, Tracey, Bill, Amy and Matt of Greensboro, NC; and stepdaughter, Frances McGee and husband, Bob of Saratoga Springs, NY. She is also survived by a sister-in-law, Lillian Lantz of Maine, NY; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Mary had a deep faith in God and, through her faith, crocheted over a thousand crosses that have traveled throughout the United States and other countries to be used as Bible bookmarks for those seeking God's truth for their lives. Mary's pride and joy were her children, grandchildren, their spouses and her great-grandchildren. Mary loved to crochet and did so for over 70 years. She was a perfectionist and it showed in her crafts. She worked at IBM during WWII and Westfall's Dress Shop. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, including those at Castle Gardens, Vestal, NY where Mary resided for the past four years.
Calling hours will be held on Friday, December 18, 2009, from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott, NY. A funeral service will be held at Coleman & Daniels on Saturday, December 19, at 10:00 a.m. with Reverend Kenneth E. Wood officiating. Burial will be in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott.
