Obituary of Frank "Joe" Gorski

Frank Joseph "Joe" Gorski III of Maine, NY passed away September 9, 2022 at Strong Memorial Hospital. A celebration of life will be held October 15, 2022 at Glendale Park at 1:00PM Joe was born in Montrose Pennsylvania on July 25, 1963. He was a graduate of Susquehanna Valley High School Class of 1982. Besides dad his favorite title was coach, for over 20 years the dynamic duo of Coach Joe and Coach Beth worked with 100's of Special Olympics athletes taking them to competitions all over NY State. His entire world revolved around training athletes in basketball, floor hockey, track, bowling, soccer, and his favorite sport softball. Joe had no idea when his nephew Jason graduated from BOCES and told him he was his coach now how it would alter his life. Every week his van was full of the athletes he picked up so they could get to practice. Joe is survived by his wife Megan, children Ryan and Zachary, his parents Frank and Patricia Gorski, Sister Vicky (Bob) Whalen, nieces and nephews Jason Gorski, Andrea Mills, John Chukoloski, Brian, Brianna, and Madison Whalen. Brother Steven Gorski nieces and nephews Damian (Kelly), Ciara, Noah, and Connor Gorski, great nephews Emmett and Ryder Gorski, in-laws Robert and Virginia Lupton, brother in-law Michael (Katherine) Lupton. Joe was predeceased by his brother Brian A Gorski. Memorial donations may be made to Broome Tioga Special Olympics. The family would like to extend their thanks to the amazing staff at Strong Memorial Hospital, especially Beth Carlson PA, Matthew Gross MD, and Christine Hay MD.
