Obituary of Phyllis Ann Laibe

Phyllis Ann (von Linden) Laibe died on September 29, 2022 at the age of 92. Born in Schoharie, NY, she was a daughter of the late Donald Palm and Marguerite (Decker) von Linden. She was predeceased by her daughter, Mary Ann (Laibe) Kirchheimer in 2010. She is survived by her husband, William F. Laibe, and two sons and daughters-in-laws, Steven W. and Debra D. Laibe of New Smyrna Beach, FL, and John D. and Cheryl A. Laibe of Vestal, NY. Additional survivors include four grandchildren, Daniel (& Heather) Kirchheimer; Kevin (& Katelyn) Kirchheimer, Erin (& Justin) Irizarry, and Amber Laibe; five great-grandchildren, a sister, Janice von Linden of Albany, NY, a brother and sister-in-law, Donald and Jeannette von Linden of South Glens Falls, NY, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Ann was a member of Vestal United Methodist Church and was active in its United Methodist Women and the Binghamton District United Methodist Women. She was also a tutor for Literacy Volunteers and a volunteer for Meals on Wheels of Western Broome. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ann's memory to Vestal United Methodist Church (328 Main St, Vestal, NY 13850) or Foundation Methodist Church (3505 Vestal Parkway East, Vestal, NY 13850). Ann's family expresses their appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Good Shepherd Fairview Home at Binghamton for their care. A celebration of life will be planned for a later date.
