Virginia (Ginger) A. Reed, 86, of Johnson City, died Saturday October 8, 2022. She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Eugene R. Reed, parents Arthur and Leona Huyck, brother James Huyck, sister Marilyn Lane and special Grandson Joshua Henry. She is survived by: sister Bernadine Nemcek, brother Gary Huyck, daughter Debbie & husband Steve Shubiak (son David & wife Patty and their children David, Travis, and Bobby), son Steve & wife Donna (children Danielle (son Derrick), Narcissa (husband Jason & son Aiden), Lindsay (children Damon, Nataya, and Jordan), Paul (sons Ayden and Anthony), son Thomas and wife Tabatha (sons Thomas Jr. and Timothy), son Jeffrey and several great-great grandchildren. She was blessed with lifelong friends John and Charlene Quirello and their family, Donna Oliver, Shirley Shovlowsky and her church family. She was a retired employee of Ideal Hospital and Binghamton University. Ginger was a faithful member of the Endwell Christian Union Church. One of her many hobbies was ceramics painting and gifting them to family and friends. She shot shuffleboard for many years at the Binghamton Moose and the JC Eagle's Clubs. Ginger kept her mind sharp with her love of crossword puzzles and reading for hours on her swing. Ginger was the faithful caretaker of grandson Josh's grave lovingly decorating it seasonally. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at UHS for the compassionate care they provided for Ginger and the family. The family would also like to thank Pastor Penird for his comforting support. The family will receive friends Monday October 17,2022 at 11:00 am with the service following at 12:00 pm at Endwell Christian Union Church (corner of Hooper Rd and Smith Dr in Endwell) The Rev. Arthur Penird, will officiate. Burial will be at Vestal Hills Memorial Park at the convenience of the family.
