Obituary of Norma J. Bidwell

Norma Jean Battaglini Bidwell went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 23, 2022 passing away peacefully at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 40 years Ronald E. Bidwell and her loving son, Ronnie Bidwell, parents Lena and Joseph Battaglini, uncle Mike Battaglini, brothers - John (Marion) and Mario (Louise) Battaglini, sister - Dolores (Dick) Brown, and son-in-law Rudy Mattia. Norma is survived by daughters Sandra Jean Mattia and Karen Bidwell, daughter-in-law Jeanne Bidwell and son-in-law Bruce Bellwood. She is also survived by her younger brother Eddie (Madeline) Battaglini. Norma was a loving grandmother to Greg Mattia, Anthony (Sonya) Mattia, Joey (Jaime) Mattia, Katie McAlee, Kelly Jean (Justin) Jones, Georgia Bidwell, Ashley (Dan) Colosi and Trevor Ronald Bellwood. Norma also had nine great-grandchildren; Joshua Mattia, Olivia and Uriah Mattia, Natalie Mattia, Landon and Ashton McAlee, Savannah and Delilah Jones, and Zia Colosi. Norma and her family enjoyed vacationing in Ontario, Canada with brother-in-law and sister-in-law Rodney and Donna Bidwell and many Bidwell family members. Norma's family was incredibly important to her. She often stated that she was blessed with such a wonderful family. She lived in the same family neighborhood for over 85 years. She was a warm and loving mother - and being a grandmother was an important role that she cherished, spending as much time as possible with her grandchildren. She was also sweet aunt Norma to all her precious nieces and nephews (and their families) whom she loved dearly. Come celebrate Norma Bidwell's life on Friday, Dec. 2 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for an 11am Memorial Mass. The family will receive mourners from 10am - 11am at the church, 701 W Main St, Endicott, NY. A private burial will be at Vestal Hills for family. Donations may be made in Norma's name to Mercy House of the Southern Tier 212 N. McKinley Ave, Endicott.
