On January 13, 2023, Juan Bautista Garcia Sr., passed away peacefully in Johnson City, NY at the age of 66.
On June 24, 1956, Juan was born in the Dominican Republic to Andres and Marina Garcia. He is one of eleven children born to his parents. In 1973, he came to the United States and helped to bring the rest of his siblings to the U.S. for a better life.
Juan has worked in many different occupations before settling to being a chef for most of his career at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Binghamton. He had many hobbies that he loved and enjoyed which included fishing, collecting and studying rocks, inventing different items, gardening, and creating works of art. He loved sharing pictures of his art, inventions, food, plants, and funny pictures of himself.
He has a compassionate soul where he would give the shirt off his back and his very last if a person was in need. He was also strong willed and set in his convictions. Juan loved his family with all his heart and wouldn't trade them for anything in this world.
Juan is survived by his children, Juan Javier, Mina, Valerie, Juan Jr., Anthony, and Abigail; grandchildren, Troy, Adora, and Juan Julian; mother, Marina; brothers, and sisters, Irma, Andres, Mayra, Valentine, Esther, Wilson, Nelly, Evelyn, and Yahaira; along with many nieces, and nephews.
