Obituary of Ernest D Lounsberry

Ernest 'Donald' Lounsberry, 89, of Endwell, NY, passed away on January 24, 2023, at Crouse Hospital in Syracuse, NY. Don was born in Penn Yan, NY to Ernest D. Lounsberry and Mildred Nicholson on July 30, 1933. He is survived by his wife, Barbara J. (LaMont) Lounsberry, daughters, Cheryl Ann Seddio, Pamela Sue (Robert) Hladik, and Sandra Lee Lounsberry (Timothy) James; four grandsons and one 'favorite' granddaughter; six great grandchildren; his sister, Sylvia Fix and two nieces, and great nieces and nephew. He is predeceased in death by his father, Ernest D. Lounsberry and wife, Margaret, his mother, Mildred E. Nicholson and husband, Harold. Don graduated with a degree in Electrical Engineering from Rochester Institute of Technology and a master's degree at SUNY at Binghamton. He retired from IBM, Endicott. He was a member of St. Andrew's Anglican Church in Endicott. He was also a member of and Past Master of Round Hill Lodge #533; Staff Officer for the Grand Lodge Free & Accepted Masons of the State of New York; Past Grand High Priest of Royal Arch Masons State of New York; Scottish Rite - Valley of Binghamton; Kalurah Shriners; Knights Templar; Ahwaga 30 Council of Select Masters; and Malta Commandery 21. Don was a man whose family came first and had many hobbies and interests, some of which included golf, photography, computers, flight, and mechanics. Visitation and funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2023, with the assistance of Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home. The family will receive friends at St. Andrew's Anglican Church, 400 W. Wendell St. Endicott at 9:30am with a church service at 11:00am. Masonic funeral service will follow at Round Hill Lodge, 403 E. Main St Endicott at 12:30, with a lunch to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Masonic Medical Research Institute, 2150 Bleecker St, Utica, NY 13501 or Rock Steady Boxing Southern Tier, 709 Conklin Rd, Conklin, NY 13748.
