Roger Billig

Obituary of Roger D. Billig

He was born Roger David Billig on February 26, 1945 in the Bronx, NY. He was interested in everything and was a true polymath. He started his education at the Bronx High School of Science, continued on to The City College of New York and the Einstein College of Medicine to become a Urologist. He was passionate about music, film, international relations, the Broadway theater, history, the Universe and literature to name his favorites and was an avid reader of it all. His day wasn't complete without the New York Times and the BBC. He had a deep love of dogs; his favorite being his lab, the magical Maggie. He once played baseball with Willie Mays, operated on a Mafia Don, and chatted with Henry Fonda in an underground garage. He is survived by his wife, Leslie, his two sons, Craig (Maralou), Ross (Nancy) and four grandchildren. I will miss his sense of humor and the beautiful music that always filled our home.
