Obituary of (Ginny) Virginia Marie Peterson

Virginia M. Peterson, 95, of Vestal, passed away peacefully in her home, Saturday, February 25, 2023. She is predeceased by her siblings Eugene and Tommy. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Christine and Bob Wunders, Apalachin, two sons and daughters-in-law; Robert and Colleen Peterson, Le Raysville, PA, and William and Debra Peterson, Vestal. Her grandchildren; Matthew and Mary, Mark and Julia, Paul and Terese, Mary and Brandon, Kate and Jacob, Bobby, Sgt. James and Heather, Kim and Travis, Scott and Jen, Ross and Danielle, Mindy and Joseph, Marcy and Jacob. Her beloved great grandchildren; Maddie, Gabe, Tiernan, Ellie, predeceased Joseph, Vivian, Carmen, John, Patrick, Lucy, Grant, Claire, Zander, Xavier, Miles, Effie, and Ian, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends including, Sheila P, Sheila and Kevin Finnegan, the late Sister Margaret Rose, Sister Catherine (Vigg), Maura F, the Flecks, Anna Marie, Betty Sobocinski, Ethel, Donald McCullum, Kay Bonatakis, Rita Kugler, Helen, Kim, Amber and predeceased Danny. She worked for the telephone company before she was married to predeceased Carl R. Peterson. She was best known for being generous, witty, independent, and the life of the party. In lieu of flowers, her favorite charities were St. Jude's for Children, Cystic Fibrosis, and St. Joseph Indian School. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Thursday, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal, with visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery.
