Obituary of David W Hoffman

David W. Hoffman Sr., 84, of Apalachin passed away peacefully on April 7, 2023. He was born in Marshalltown, IA on March 15th 1939, the son of Orville T. and Ruth Stouffer Hoffman. He was predeceased by his loving wife Inez, his sister Annabelle Naig, and his many dogs over the years. He is survived by his beloved children David Hoffman Jr. and Nancy Griffin (Mark); previous daughter-in-law Susie Hoffman; granddaughter Julie Yager (Jason) and grandson Jason Yarrington and his partner Lindsay Aulin; great-grandchildren Jillian and Jackson Yager and Thora Yarrington; his co-pilot & last rescue dog Wayne. He worked at IBM for over 30 years as a programmer. David enjoyed bowling, golf, working his garden, keeping up with the numerous dogs over the years, feeding the many birds & squirrels around the house, and talking with friends & acquaintances everywhere he went. In his later years, his dogs were the focus of his daily life. The service will be private and at the convenience of the family. If friends wish to celebrate David's life or extend gratitude to the family, the family recommends donating in his name to the Broome County Humane Society or Stray Haven Humane Society.
