Obituary of Richard Wood

Richard A. Wood of Endicott Richard A. Wood passed away unexpectedly Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Wilson Memorial Hospital. Richard, born in Endicott in August of 1929, lived a full and rich life. He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Kimberly and Raleigh Shriver and Missy and Chuck Austin; brother and sister-in-law, Keith and Sharon Wood; sister, Gayle Boyer; several nieces and nephews and numerous beloved friends. Richard was a marine during the Korean War era and retired from IBM. To Richard, every day was a new day and an even brighter day. He lived life to the fullest, filling his life and home with family and friends. His passing will leave an emptiness in our hearts. The memories and countless ways he touched our lives will live on in our hearts for all time. In respect for Richard's wishes, there will be no calling hours. A memorial celebration of Richard's life and burial will be held in the spring. Those wishing to make memorial contributions are asked to bless their own families or favorite charity.
