She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Mary Theodore and her special aunt and uncle Anna and Anthony Novak. Janice is survived by her three children, Christopher Wasser (wife Bernadine) and granddaughter Sarah of Orlando, FL, Mark Wasser (wife Linda) and granddaughters Lauren and Krystin of Endicott, NY and Cynthia Wasser also of Orlando, FL as well as her stepchildren Roger Mix, Orlando, FL and Katherine Konen (husband Gerald), Vestal, NY. She then studied nursing at the Charles S Wilson School of Nursing, graduating in 1961. Over the course of her 40+ year nursing career she cared for countless patients at Wilson Hospital, Rivermeade Manor and Riverview Nursing Home. Janice was an avid crafter and enjoyed knitting, quilting, crocheting, and card making. For years she donated many hand-knit caps and booties to the NICU at Wilson Hospital. She was a member of St. Joseph's Church in Endicott, the Vestal Fire Department Station 3 Auxiliary and volunteered her time at the Vestal Senior Center. She also thoroughly enjoyed her weekly cards games with her sister and friends. Janice was a cancer survivor and was feisty to the end. Her no nonsense, realistic approach to life was well earned throughout her time with us and she will be greatly missed by those who knew and loved her.
