Obituary of Rosemary J. Suwak

Rosemary passed away peacefully on June 9, 2023 at the age of 98. She is the daughter of the late Stephen and Anelia "Nellie" Wenger of Johnson City, NY. Rosemary is survived by her four sons: Stanley (Sally) Suwak of Binghamton NY, grandson Christopher and granddaughter Lindsay (Mike) Slavik; Daniel (Linda) Suwak of Southampton NJ, granddaughter Jill (Matt) Foret, great-grandchildren Taylor and Ryan, grandson Jeff (Jackie) Suwak, great-grandchildren Ava, Riley, and Brynle; Joseph (Karen) Suwak of Vestal NY, granddaughters Jennifer (Chris) Church, great-grandson Austin, Vanessa, Natalie (Dillon) Hanna, and Meredith (Corey) Wasilnak; and Michael (Patricia) Suwak of Apalachin NY, granddaughter Michelle (Chris) Watson, great-grandchildren Kari and Patrick, and grandson Michael (Maggie Reopell) Suwak. Rosemary grew up in Johnson City, NY where she met the love of her life, Stanley Suwak, whom had predeceased her by 35 years and now they will be together again. Rosemary was also predeceased by her sisters Anna Honsinger, Josephine Dellard, Dorothy Stepanovsky, and her brothers Stephen and Theodore Wenger. Rosemary was a loving and caring wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many. She will always be remembered by the amount of attention and care she gave to everyone in her family, both immediate and extended. She gave everything she had to her family, raising four boys while operating machines at IBM, with a husband who worked decades at EJ Shoe Factory. She had an exceptional memory for remembering anything and everything, including everyone's birthday, and she always attended her sons and grandchildren's sporting events and recitals. We love you, Mom, you will surely be missed. A funeral mass will be held in her honor on Friday, June 23, 2023 beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church in Vestal, NY. The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 11:00 at the church, prior to the mass. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery in Johnson City.
