Obituary of Marcus Caesar
Marcus Caesar, affectionately known as Grizz, was born on March 22, 1974, to Dorethea Wright and Gabriel Caesar at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
Marcus completed primary and secondary schools in Brooklyn before moving to Binghamton then settling in Endicott, Yew York.
Marcus had an infectious smile that melted your heart when he laid it on you. He had that special something that we all wished we had but it always eluded us.
In 2005 Marcus married his beloved Brenda Chapman and through this union two beautiful children were born – two daughters; the first was Gabrielle, affectionately known as Gabby, and the second was Maggie. Also in this loving family was his stepson, Colby.
Marcus loved watching football on TV and his favorite team was the Chicago Bears. If you didn't want to get on Marcus' bad side, which was not encouraged, you left him alone when his Bears lost a game especially if it was to your team.
Marcus was employed for over 15 years by Pet Depot before he moved on to working for Planet Fitness. But during his tenure at Pet Depot the animals would always cause a huge ruckus when Marcus arrived at the store because they were so happy to see him.
To have truly known Marcus meant that you truly loved him. Although he had health issues, that didn't stop him from doing whatever he could to make someone else's life better. He was big in stature, but his heart was even bigger; he was always there if you needed a person to whom you could confidentially tell your concerns, or if you only needed a hand to hold.
Marcus, our father, our son, our brother, our cousin, our nephew, our friend… who enkindled in us a love of life and a zest for loving one another for who we are - We thank God for your presence in our lives.
Marcus passed away on Saturday, June 17, 2023, at his home here in Endicott, New York.
Marcus you will be missed, but we will cherish the memories and you will live forever in our hearts. We know you are safe in the arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen.
