Obituary of Armand J. Olevano

Armand J. Olevano, Sr. of Endicott Armand J. Olevano, Sr., 88, of Endicott, passed away on January 21, 2010. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Marianne (Nina) Olevano; his son, Thomas James Olevano; his parents, Pietro and Anna Olevano; sister, Blanche Baio Ruffo; brothers, Geno, Anthony and Orlando Olevano; and his daughter-in-law, Donna Olevano. He is survived by his sister, Helen Desimone; sister-in-law, Mary Frate; his son and daughter-in-law, Armand Jr. and Barbara Olevano, Endwell; daughter and son-in-law, Anne-Louise and Dr. Octavio Chirino, St. Louis; his grandchildren, Thomas Olevano, Binghamton; Sharon Olevano, Los Angeles; Carolyn Warenberg and Robert Chirino, St. Louis; Michael Chirino, Los Angeles; his great-grandchildren, Nina Chirino, Henry and Lily Warenberg, all of St. Louis; and many nieces and nephews. He was a member of St. Ambrose Church, Endicott; and retired from Gault Chevrolet. In his youth he was a professional boxer and spent many years of his life in community service. He taught youth boxing at the CYO and the Boys Club, served on the Board of Directors of the Boys Club, was a 50-year life member and past president of the Endicott Optimist Club, a member of the Endicott Democratic Committee and a trustee of the Village of Endicott for twelve years. A Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 25, 2010, at 10:00 a.m. at St. Ambrose Church, Endicott. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City. Funeral arrangements are by Coleman and Daniels, Endicott. At the request of the family, there will be no calling hours.
