Obituary of Kim Ilene McHenry

It is with sorrowful hearts that we announce the passing of Kim Ilene McHenry at Lourdes Hospital while surrounded by her loving family on July 2, 2023. She was 65 years old. Kim was predeceased by her father, David Leroy McHenry, mother, Glenda Mae Short, step father, Francis Grant Short and brother, Michael McHenry. She is survived by her siblings Sue, Amy, Patrick, Kay Cee, and Del; stepmother Gina McHenry; her sons Jason, Robbie (Caitlyn), and Cody (Gianina); eight grandchildren Jalon, Rose, Axl, Opal, Jude, Larenzo, Ivy, and Theodore; great-grandchildren Aubrey and Layla; and her nephew Clayton. Kim graduated from Owego Free Academy (forever Indians). She was very proud of her time spent working at the Owego Pennysaver and the Press and Sun Bulletin. She very much loved the many furry companions she had owned over the years, most especially her beloved dog Jasmine. She also loved spending her time making jewelry to set up and sell at craft shows. Kim was known to speak her mind, was often feisty, and had a carefree spirit that we will forever miss. Her family invites friends to call and reminisce at the Owego Elks Lodge on July 22 from 12-2pm. A private burial will be held for family at Riverside Cemetery on Marshland Rd. afterwards. In lieu of flowers and in honor of Kim's love for animals, please donate to your favorite animal shelter. Your prayers for her soul are also appreciated so that she may be basking in the Glory of her Savior for all Eternity.
