Obituary of Thomas Butchko

Thomas Michael Butchko Sr. went to be with our Father in Heaven on September 3, 2023, after a courageous battle with cancer. Thomas will join his parents, Charles Sr. and Alice Butchko and his brother John Butchko. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Judy Butchko, his son Thomas Butchko Jr., daughter-in-law, Michelle, daughter Karen Erno and son-in-law, Jeff. Thomas also has three stepchildren David Springsteen, Jeff Springsteen and Debbie Moyer. Thomas is also survived by his brothers Charles Butchko Jr, wife Georgiana, Gerald Butchko, James Butchko, his wife Beverly, and two sisters Barbara Butchko and Katherine Butchko. Several grandchildren and special nieces and nephews also filled Thomas's life. Thomas was born and raised in Endicott, New York. He graduated from Union Endicott High School. He served his community for 34 years at the Binghamton Fire Department, retiring in 2001. Also, he had several years in the construction industry working on major building projects and residential homes. In his retirement years, Thomas loved to do projects around his house and help others with their projects. When he did find some spare time, Thomas filled it with his membership to the Vestal 408 Elk's Club where he held the title of Exalted Ruler. A religious service was held at the grave site in Vestal Hills Cemetery, September 8, 2023. In lieu of sending flowers, Thomas would prefer to have donations send to St. Jude's Children Hospital.
