Obituary of Lavanne C Vinson

Lavanne Vinson, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, September 14, 2023. She is predeceased by her loving husband of 55 years, Robert Vinson Sr., son, Robert Vinson Jr., her parents, Earl Sr and Maude Hawkins, and siblings, Alice, Cissy, Waneda, Linda, Earl Jr, Harry, Betty and Sandy. She is survived by her three sons; Mike (Shirley) Vinson, Rodney Vinson, and Gordon Vinson, Sr., daughter-in-law, Lisa Vinson, 5 grandchildren; Erica and Megan Vinson, Jaime (Michael) Chappell, Matt (Kara) Vinson, Gordon Jr (Megan) Vinson, 2 great grandchildren, Kayla and Tyler Vinson, 2 brothers, Gene (Jacqueline) Hawkins and Ed Hawkins, as well as many nieces and nephews. Lavanne (Vonnie) loved spending time with her grandkids the most and helping others. Upside down banana splits and vanilla shakes were her favorite. She enjoyed yodeling, country music and crossword puzzles. Vonnie will forever be in our hearts. The family would like to extend a thank you to Elizabeth Church Nursing Home for their care. The family will receive friends at Vestal United Methodist Church, 328 Main St. Vestal, on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 from 5 to 7 p.m.
