Obituary of Elaine Lee Kulu

San Diego - Elaine Lee Kulu (Savage), 85, died peacefully at her daughter's home on September 28th, 2023. She was born in Lyons, NY to Kenneh and Cora Savage. She grew up on the family farm alongside her brothers. She was a lifelong lover of Lions, horses, and travel. She retired with over 30 years of federal service in 1999. She traveled all over the country and resided in Hawaii before settling in San Diego. She took pride in her travels, with some of her favorite destinations including; Alaska, Australia, Japan, Hawaii, and the Virgin Islands. She has said that the greatest accomplishment of her life was her family, which included three children, a step-son, ten grandchildren, and eleven great grandchildren. She is predeceased by her parents, Kenneth and Cora Savage, brother Norman Savage, step-son Matthew Kulu, husband Harry Kulu, and beloved dog Smoky. She is survived by her brothers Lloyd and Milton Savage, daughters Gail Taney-Fitzpatrick, Susan Kerschner, and son Joseph Taney. Her family will be gathering to celebrate and honor her life at Connfection Connection in Owego on Saturday, October 7th, from 11 am - 3 pm. A graveside service will be held at Pioneers Cemetery in Shortsville on Monday, October 9th at noon.
