Obituary of Christopher Alden Condon

Christopher A. Condon, affectionately known as Chris, "Papa", or "Mr. C" passed away on October 4, 2023, in Endicott, NY, at the age of 86. He was born on January 22, 1937, in Troy, NY, to the late Chris and Mary Condon. Chris leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family. Chris was preceded in death by his parents, Chris and Mary Condon. His in-laws, Joe and Martha Murphy. His sister Marcia O'Brien, brother-in-law Tom O'Brien, brother Joe Muzio and sister-in-law Rose Muzio. Chris was a warm, funny and kind-hearted individual who was a devoted husband to Jo-Ann Condon for 58 years. He was a loving father to his children Theresa (Greg), Casey (Mike), and Chris (Karen). Chris was also a beloved "Papa" to his eight amazing grandchildren: Meghan, Grace, Sarah, Shannon, Sam, Matthew, Coleman, and Carson. Chris attended LaSalle Institute in Troy, NY, for high school and went on to graduate from Hudson Valley Technical Institute. He proudly served in the Army Reserves. Chris's career was marked by excellence, as he earned a degree in Electrical Engineering and worked for IBM in Owego and Endicott for 37 years, serving as a dedicated Project Manager. Chris was a devout member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church for 54 years. He found joy in various hobbies and activities, including gardening and golfing. Chris was always ready to lend a hand to those in need whether it was family, friend's or strangers. He was also a devoted volunteer at Lourdes Hospital for 26 years. He was a dedicated fan of the NY Giants and the NY Yankees. "Papa" took immense pride in cheering for his grandchildren at their various sporting events. Chris's warm heart, unwavering faith, and love for his family will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered. A celebration of life will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, on Monday, October 9, 2023. Family and friends are invited to join the family during a visitation period from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, followed by a mass at 11:00 am. A burial will follow the mass at Riverhurst Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Mercy House, Endicott, NY, as a tribute to Chris's memory.
