Obituary of Stanley W. Barnhart
Stanley Wayne Barnhart of Owego
Stanley Wayne Barnhart, 83, of Owego, went home to be with the Lord, unexpectedly, on Friday, January 8, 2010, in Carlisle, PA. Stanley was a veteran of the US Navy and was at Normandy Beach on D-Day on the USS Monterey, LST 264 and helped decommission the Queen Mary. He is predeceased by a daughter, Lyndia Shirley Barnhart; his parents, Bernard J. and Lillian Steele Barnhart, formerly of Montrose, PA; and several brothers and one sister. He is survived by his wife, Regina Lucille Barnhart, 68, of Owego; a brother, Worth Barnhart of Hallstead, PA; a sister, Ellen Barnhart Abbott of Montrose, PA; a sister, Lois Barnhart (Ed) Holbrook of Montrose, PA; a brother, Daryl (Beverly) Barnhart of Randieman, North Carolina; a brother, Glen (Connie) Barnhart of Conklin, NY; a son, Walter Wayne Barnhart of Whitney Point; a son, Chris Lee Barnhart of Johnson City, NY; a daughter, Penny Ann Barnhart Grasburger of Daytona Beach, FL; a son, Harold Bernard Barnhart of Daytona Beach, FL; a son, Raymond George (Penny Kunzman) Barnhart of Owego; a daughter, Alice Jean Barnhart (Marwan) Maraheel of Denver, CO; a daughter, Amy Louise Barnhart (Timothy) Scott of Owego; also 21 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was an employee at Automation Services Inc. for 21 years and retired from Felchar Manufacturing in Kirkwood with 10 years of service.
Memorial Services with full Military Honors will be held on Friday, February 5, 2010, at 11:00 a.m. at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott. The family will receive their friends on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service at the Funeral Home. A dinner will be served at 12:30 p.m. at the Campville Volunteer Fire Dept. for family and friends.
