Myrtle I. Woodford Obituary

Myrtle I. Woodford, age 85, of Johnson City, NY, passed away peacefully on December 30, 2023.

She was born on February 7, 1938, near Deposit, NY., at Oquaga Lake, NY.


Myrtle was a gentle spirited person who always had a smile for everyone. She was known for her kind and caring nature, her presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. Myrtle enjoyed visiting with family and friends. She got along with everyone, she never met a stranger.


Myrtle enjoyed reading, crocheting, watching Elvis movies, thrift stores, yard sales and traveling, were always fun for her.


Myrtle leaves behind a loving family, including her siblings: Marjorie Hammond, Stanley (Alice) Woodford, Donald (Barbara) Woodford, Mildred Carberry, Muriel Woodford, Daniel (Cassie) Woodford and


Maxine Cramer. She was preceded in death by her parents, Percy and Beatrice Woodford, her brother Raymond Woodford, and her sisters Martha Malmstrom, Mary Nelson, and Melba Jenne.

Myrtle also leaves behind numerous nieces, nephews and cousins who will cherish her memory.


Myrtle received her education at Oquaga Lake School and Deposit Central School.


A celebration of Myrtle's life will be announced at a later date.
