Obituary of Joan L. Rinker

Joan L Rinker (Middleton) of Vestal, NY born November 9th 1944, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 3rd 2024. She was predeceased by her parents Joseph & Helen Middleton (James), sister Judy Middleton and her son Jeffrey Rinker. Joan is survived by her two sons Edward and Dee Rinker of Coventry, NY and Mark and Donna Rinker of Coventry, NY; eleven grandchildren and many great grandchildren; her aunt and uncle Richard and Carol James. Joan was a brilliant woman who found success in everything she did. She was a role model of hard work and independence. When her boys were young, she spent a lot of time with horses and working with show dogs. She made many friends as a bus driver for Harpursville Central School. Joan later continued her education to become a nurse and spent her time working as a home health nurse until she retired. Everyone she worked with loved her. In recent years, she spent her time tending to her plants and flowers. The family would like to extend their gratitude to her good friends Deb and Kurt Leonard for the friendship and help they provided for Joan. As many know, Joan was very private and therefore the family will be holding a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you plant a flower in her memory.
