Obituary of Marsh A. MacMillan

Marsh A. MacMillan, 89, of Endicott, NY passed away in his home on March 8, 2024. Born in Manhattan, New York on June 21, 1934, he was the son of the late Townsend MacMillan and Ruth (Marsh) MacMillan. He was raised in Mountain Lakes, NJ and graduated from MLHS in 1952. He attended Cornell University where he graduated with a Master's degree in Business in June 1957. He married the love of his life Lois Holschuh that same month in Pittston, PA. They were married for 64 wonderful years. Marsh was a dedicated father, a man of great character, intelligence and humor who will be sorely missed by friends and family. Marsh had a long and successful 35-year career with IBM in Endicott and continued his friendship with his co-workers long after retirement. His old IBM cronies, affectionately referred to as The Lunch Bunch, met each Thursday at Kristofor's and provided great companionship to Marsh over the years. His time with IBM included a much sought after assignment with his family in Japan from 1970-72 where he was an advisor in information technology to his Japanese colleagues. Marsh and Lois were active members of the Central United Methodist Church throughout their marriage. They were expert bridge players and played in many tournaments locally and around the country. His neighbor, Michele Palmer has been a great friend and generously provided her unwavering support over the years which is greatly appreciated by the family. Marsh is survived by his two daughters, Mary Beth, of Apalachin, NY and Susan Louise of Dover, PA, his brother James of Tucson, AZ, his 3 children and 4 grandchildren, Lois' sister Louise Jenkins, her 6 children and 13 grandchildren, and Lois' brother Glenn's wife Romayne, her 3 children and 5 grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 3 PM on Saturday, April 6, followed by a service at 4:00 PM at Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main St., Endicott.
