Obituary of Charles Arthur Quinn

Charles A. Quinn, of Vestal, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 8, 2024. He was born on April 4, 1934 in Corning, New York to Arthur J. and Helen E. Quinn. He is survived by a daughter, Eileen S. Quinn (Ken) of Oregon, sons Charles E. Quinn (Kerry) of New York, Timothy J. Quinn (Susan) of Maryland. He is also survived by seven grandchildren: Benjamin Quinn-Werbeck, Charles V. Quinn (Shannon), Max D. Quinn, Lauren E. Quinn, Cooper C. Quinn (Sara), Sgt. Jackson E. Quinn, USMC (Mikayla), and Nathan R. Quinn, and one great-grandchild, Carter J. S. Quinn. He is predeceased by his loving wife of almost 60 years, Kathleen M. Quinn (Eager), and a sister, Nancy A. (Quinn) Kisner. Charley, a proud veteran of the United States Navy, received a degree from the Broome Technical Institute and had a long career as an executive at the Endicott-Johnson Shoe Company where he managed multiple areas of the business. A devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, he loved nothing more than spending time with his family. Amazing in so many ways, Charley at 90, had an independent spirit, used an iPad to get the daily news, and connected with his grandchildren via text. He never missed sending cards for birthdays, anniversaries, or other significant life events. He also enjoyed volunteering at the Vestal Public Library and the Vestal Nursing Center. Proud of his Irish heritage, Charley will be sorely missed by his family, friends, neighbors, and all who knew and loved him. A Funeral Mass will be offered on Friday August 16th, at 11:30 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Church, Vestal. Entombment with military honors will follow in Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. The family will receive friends at the Church on Friday from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Mass.
