Obituary of Kathryn L Slawta

Kathryn L. Slawta, formerly of Vestal, went peacefully to be with the Lord on SUNDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2024 at ELIZABETH CHURCH MANOR NURSING HOME in Binghamton, New York. Born December 15, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary Lamberson Norconk. She and her husband Charles were married 66 years before his passing on March 5, 2011. Kathryn was a mother and a homemaker, considering these things the highest calling in life. The closest things to her heart were her family and her God. She enjoyed family gatherings, writing and receiving cards and letters, reading and listening to Christian music. In addition to her husband and parents, Kathryn was preceded in death by her sisters Arlene Neuber, Marion Blemle, Rachel Miller and brother Raymond Norconk and grandchild Jacqueline Slawta. She is survived by her sons and their spouses: Thomas (Jean), Andrew (Nancy), Roger, James (Kathleen), Gene; and grandchildren Daniel, Dawn, Matthew, Rebecca, Rachelle, Michael, Kevin, Kelly, Patrick and Brian. She is also survived by great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, located at 765 Main Street, Vestal on Thursday September 19, 2024. Visitors are welcome beginning at 12:00 noon, the service will follow at 1:00 pm. A meal will be provided right after at a location to be determined. Burial will be performed at the Vestal Hills Memorial Park, 3997 Vestal Road. A special thanks to the staff at Elizabeth Church Nursing Home for their compassionate care the past several years.
