Douglas L. Steen Sr., 81 of Apalachin NY, formly of Little Meadows, PA, died at Wilson Hospital on Thursday, September 11th, 2024 after a brief illness.

He was predeceased by his father Lee, mother Coy, brother Roger and a great-grandchild, Maverick Zurn.

He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Bonnie; daughters Deborah Tomchick (James), Elaine Zurn (James), son Douglas Steen Jr. (Kimberly Kelly); sister-in-law, Diane Morse; his aunt Effie Garren; 9 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, as well as several cousins and nieces.

Doug was survived by his faithful companion, "Baby", his cat.

Doug was a longtime employee of Marshland Construction. Doug was an avid hunter, loved Nascar and his Buffalo Bills. Doug also drove stock car at the old Shangri-la.

Doug will be greatly missed by his family. Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 15, 2024 at 4 PM at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, LLC 6519 State Route 434, Apalachin. The Reverend Leon Jicha will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Apalachin at the convenience of the family. The family will receive friends at the funeral home Sunday from 2 PM until service time at 4.
