Obituary of Cody J. Roberts

On his 31st birthday, September 13, 2024, Cody James Roberts joined his mother, Bonnie Jackson, in eternal peace. Born in Johnson City, NY on the same day in 1993, Cody's life was a complex tapestry of struggles and triumphs. Cody was a beloved son, brother, uncle, and friend whose infectious enthusiasm often masked underlying pain. He found solace and excitement in the simple pleasures of life, from gaming and riding off-road vehicles to losing himself in the pages of James Patterson novels. His mischievous spirit often led to playful pranks that brought laughter to those around him, he would always warn of the potential for a "surprise" in your pillowcase. Beyond his adventurous spirit, Cody had a deep connection to nature and a special love for animals. His powerful voice, a gift from above, seemed to reach the heavens. A lover of all things sweet, he had a particular fondness for chocolate milk and Code Red Mountain Dew. Cody also embraced a wide range of musical genres including classic rock, country, pop and hip hop. Cody is survived by his sister, Branda Roberts; her fiancé, Evangelos Fontanas; his sister, Brenna Roberts, and her significant other, Jamel Campbell; his nieces Aliviya Hardy and Lilliana Garcia; his nephew, Xavier Moore; his stepfather, Gregg Jackson and numerous other family members and friends. A funeral service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Maine, New York, on Friday, September 20th. Calling hours will be from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM, followed by the service from 12:00 PM to 12:30 PM. Cody will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
