Obituary of Arthur Edwards

Arthur L. Edwards of Vestal Arthur L. Edwards, 89, of Vestal, died Sunday, March 7, 2010, at his home. He was predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Virginia; and their son, Dennis (Denny) Edwards. He was also predeceased by his parents, Amy and Horace Edwards; his sisters, Leah Helmus, Teresa Wilcox, Josephine Mix, Faith Hill; and his brother, John Edwards. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Nadine M. and Michael Walsh, Brewerton, NY; his son and daughter-in-law, David A. and Kathleen Edwards, Vestal, NY; one sister, Lelia Dymond, Vestal; his grandsons, Matthew M. and wife Julie Walsh, Spencerport, NY, Dr. Daniel P. Walsh and Maureen McCormack, Williamston, NY, John A. and Christine Edwards, Morris, NY, Derek and Adriane Edwards, North Carolina; his great-grandchildren, Grace and Anna Walsh, Nathaniel and Anastasia Edwards, Katrina Wagner and Dennis Edwards; also several nieces and nephews. Arthur was a veteran of WWII, serving in the Army Air Corps. He worked at the Endicott-Johnson Corporation for 27 years and retired from the Vestal Post Office in 1983. Arthur was a member of the Vestal American Legion Post 89, the VFW Post 8808, and the Last Man's Club at the Vestal Legion. A Funeral Service for Arthur will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 10, 2010, at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Inc., 765 Main St., Vestal. The Rev. Roger L. Frederick, Pastor of the Vestal Center United Methodist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Vestal Park Cemetery.
