Glenn Hochdoerfer went to be with his Savior on November 6, 2024. He is survived by his loving wife, Deanna; his daughter, Kelsey Travis (Jeremy); his son, Kyle; his niece, Elaina; his sister-in-law, Juanita (Michael); and his aunts, Helen Walla, Mary Sansonetti, and Jean Hochdoerfer (Joseph). He also leaves behind numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. Glenn was predeceased by his parents, George and Joyce (Frisby), his brother Michael, and his uncle Joe.
Glenn proudly served the Vestal community for 23 years as a police officer, detective, firearms instructor, and member of the Vestal, Endicott, and Johnson City tactical team. He enjoyed participating in the annual Torch Run with his coworkers to support the Special Olympics and dedicated many hours off duty to the Vestal PD's dog training program. After retiring from the Vestal Police Department in 2007, he worked as a PC land technician for the Town of Vestal until 2015.
In his personal life, Glenn treasured time with his family, especially during gatherings for Christmas and the Fourth of July, where he created years of special memories. He loved cooking out, playing games, and sharing his warmth and humor with those he loved.
A service to celebrate Glenn's life will be held on Monday, November 18, at 6 p.m. at Valleyview Alliance Church on Foster Road in Vestal. Calling hours will be held at the church from 4:30 to 6 p.m.
