Sherrie Lynn Dyer Obituary

Sherrie Lynn Dyer (Rohland), age 64, of Apalachin, passed away peacefully on November 26, 2024, at the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, with her family by her side after a long bout with cancer.

She graduated from UE High School and spent her younger years swimming and riding horses competitively. She met and married her husband Ron, of 37 years and raised three children. Her family and extended family were very important to her. She was passionate about traveling anywhere warm and would go to the beach, any beach, any chance she could. She was always in the kitchen cooking, especially when using recipes from Nana's cherished cookbooks. She loved playing cards, a good game of Phase 10 or Skip-Bo, which you could often find her forcing her children to play with her way past bedtime when she got home from waitressing. She worked at Olive Garden and Friendly's for many years before joining Verizon in customer service.

She is survived by her Husband, Ronald Dyer; her children, Jenny (Dan) English Ronald Dyer Jr; her grandchildren, Ethan English, Adrian Dupre, Evan English, and Logan Babuka; her mother, Joan Bliss; her sister Cindy (Tim) Williams, and her brother Jim (Melissa) Rohland, many cousins, nieces and nephews and her beloved dogs Lily and Zoe. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, her father, James Rohland, and her daughter, Chrissy Redpath.

In place of a gathering, the family encourages anyone wishing to honor Sherrie's memory to donate to the Mercy House of the Southern Tier, who compassionately cared for her in her final days.
