Obituary of Thomas C Tobbe

Thomas C. Tobbe of Vestal Thomas C. Tobbe, 79, passed away on December 8, 2024, with family and at peace in his home. He was born March 4, 1945, in Endwell, the son of John and Orpha (Molyneaux) Tobbe. Tom graduated from Vestal High School, Class of 1963 where he was an avid Varsity wrestler. Following graduation, he married Sharon Tobbe (Houseknecht) and together they built a life together in Vestal, NY. They celebrated 56 years of marriage. Tom served with the U.S. Army and was a part-time police officer for the Town of Vestal while his primary career was with IBM in Endicott for thirty (30) years, 15 of those years included managerial roles. Interests throughout his life included: waterskiing, snowmobile riding, camping, boating and spending time with family. He co-founded a junior wrestling program which brought many kids into the sport that he greatly respected. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, John "Jack" and sister Rosemary Wickman. Surviving in addition to his wife Sharon Tobbe, are a son and daughter-in-law Tim and Christine Tobbe of Zirconia, NC; three grandchildren: Stephanie White, Sydney Tobbe and Aidan Tobbe. A daughter and son-in-law Teri and Noel Welty of Owego, NY; two grandchildren: Skyler Welty and Tobbe Welty. Brother-in-law Keith Houseknecht and his wife Brenda. Along with several nieces, nephews and cousins. The public calling hours will be held at Tracy Creek Memorial Church on Monday December 16, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. with the service starting at 11:00 a.m., officiated by pastor Kevin Boothby.
