Obituary of DeLyn Marie Snyder

DeLyn Marie Snyder, 57, of Newark Valley, went to be with her Lord and Savior after losing her courageous battle with ALS on Friday, December 13th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her faithful husband of 36 years, Mark, four beautiful children, Ashley, Zachary (Sarah), Stephen (Erica), and Eric. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Charlie and Louisa, sister Michelle, niece and nephew, Chelsey and Nathan, her mother Roslyn, father Dean, her lifelong soul sister Brenda, and many close extended family members and special friends. Delyn was a graduate of Broome Community College where she achieved her life goal of becoming a registered nurse. She worked at Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA for 32 years living out her passion for helping others in need. Her other passions included gardening, camping, finding a good thrift store bargain, and singing for Jesus with her wonderful church family. Her children and grandchildren meant the world to her. She leaves them with a lasting legacy of loving others, learning to dance in the rain, and never giving up hope. Calling hours for Delyn will be on Wednesday, December 18th at Bridgewater Vestal Church (2101 Owego Rd., Vestal) from 10:30-12:30, immediately followed by a memorial service. In lieu of flowers, Delyn expressed she would like donations to be made to Shady Strong, a local organization that provides support for individuals battling ALS.
