Obituary of Filomena G. Antenucci
Filomena G. Antenucci, nato Carlone, 83, of Endicott, NY, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 11th,?2024. ?
She was preceded in death by her husband, Nicola, her parents, Domenico and Lucia Carlone, her?parents-in-law, Giovina?and Angelo Antenucci, and her brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Antonio and Rosaria Antenucci, of California. She is survived by her loving children; three sons, Ugo (Julie) Antenucci, Mario Antenucci all of Endicott,?and Marco (Kristen) Antenucci of Durham, NC; two daughters, Linda (Michael) Hooks of?Southport, NC and Gina (Mario) Pizzi of Ontario, Canada; ten grandchildren, Anthony (Angelo),?Arielle, Olivia, Niccolo, Jonathan, Evan, Ryan, Christopher, Alessandro, and Teresa; her sister, Giuseppina DiSanto of Quebec, and her niece and nephews, Lucia, Carmelino, Domenico, Mauro, and Bruno and their families of the US and Canada.
Immigrating from Campochiaro, Italy in 1955, Filomena and her family moved to Canada to start a new life. She met her husband, Nicola, through her uncle and they married in 1961. ?In that same year, they moved to the United States to become citizens and to start their family of five. They settled in the Northside neighborhood of Endicott, where Nicola worked as a tailor and Filomena?worked as a seamstress. ?Both were well-known in the Triple Cities.?Filomena loved to cook and was famous for her meatballs,?lamb spiedies, and lasagna. Although her native language was Italian, she was also fluent in?English, French, and Sign Language. She would always put a smile on your face with her unique sense of humor.
The family would like to express their sincere gratitude for the excellent care and?compassion Filomena received at Vestal Park Nursing Center and at UHS hospitals.
Services will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2024?at St. Anthony of Padua Church, 300?Odell Avenue, Endicott, NY, with the family receiving friends at 9:00 AM until the funeral mass offering at 10:00 AM. Burial will?immediately follow in Calvary Cemetery, Johnson City, NY. In?lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Filomena's name to the?Alzheimer's Association, 225 N. Michigan Avenue, Fl. 17, Chicago, IL 60601 or at act.alz.org.
Funeral arrangements are by Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, 300 E. Main Street, Endicott, NY.
