Obituary of Regina Oney

Regina (Jean) Siperko Oney, 92, resident of United Methodist Homes Hilltop, passed into the arms of Jesus Christ on December 23, 2024. She was born on July 16, 1932, in Ashley, PA. She was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Sophia Siperko; brothers Albert Siperko, Jr, Bernard Siperko, Jack Siperko; sisters Helen Denmond, Ann Smith, Betty Rogers; brother in laws Ronald Franklin, Thomas Oney and William Oney, Temple Smith; sister in law Joan Oney; nephew's wife Karen Franklin and infant nephew Ronald Amos Oney. Jean is survived by her husband Robert, Son Mark Oney (Gail),Danville, CA; Daughter Kathie (Kevin), Endwell, NY; Grandchildren Matthew (Thais) Oney, Christopher Oney, Jack O'Brien (Sierra) and Kate O'Brien (Fernando) and great grandson Alonso. Jean was employed by the ACME Offices in Forty Fort, PA prior to her marriage to Bob in May, 1957. After they were married, they moved to Endicott, NY where Bob was employed by IBM. She worked briefly at Ideal Hospital and later at Thomas J. Watson Elementary School as a nurse's aide. Bob and Jean were members of Central United Methodist Church where Jean held the position of treasurer of the church's memorial fund for 20 + years. She volunteered at the church's Shepherd's Supper, ushering, communion steward and was in the Grace bible circle. Jean and Bob gained many friends through their church affiliation and enjoyed many happy times playing dominos and various card games with their friends. Jean always put her children and grandchildren first in her life and also treasured her times playing with family pets, Kia and Sophie. Coleman/Daniels Funeral Home will be handling the arrangements. A private service will be held at Central United Methodist Church for the family and members of Central United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 28 at 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in the Riverhurst Cemetery, Endwell. Individuals wishing to make contributions in Jean's memory can consider the memorial fund at Central United Methodist's Church's Shepherds Supper. The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to our other family, the staff at JGJ 1 Nursing Home for the wonderful and compassionate care that they gave Regina.
