Obituary of Thomas Meyer

Thomas Meyer passed away peacefully on Jan 12th, 2025, after complications from surgery, with family by his side. He was 63 years old. Born in Callicoon, NY, he was a lifelong resident of New York and currently residing in Endwell, NY. Tom was preceded in death by his wife of 15 years, Penny (Ketzak), and his father, Eugene. Those left to cherish his memory are his children, Vanessa Burleson of Maryville, TN, Katrina Couch with husband Adam of Memphis, TN, Joe Meyer of Callicoon, NY, and Stephanie Cook with husband Mike of Maryville, TN; stepdaughters Jenny and Sara Ketzak both of Binghamton, NY; seven grandchildren, Gabby, Mason, Madilyn, Isabelle, Colton, Bailey, and Brady. Tom is also survived by his mother, Mildred (Niessen) of Hankins, NY, brothers David with wife Nanette of Yorktown, VA, Steven with wife Jenny of West Windsor, NY, and John with wife Sheri of Hankins, NY; several nieces and nephews. Tom retired from the New York State Police, where he proudly served for 32 years. He was appointed the rank of Technical Sergeant and held a number of positions. He was the Senior Firearms Instructor for Troop C, a member of the Motorcycle Detail and the .308 Detail. Tom loved bowling, golfing, hunting, fishing, and cooking. But above all he loved his family and enjoyed making memories with all of them. The family will receive visitors on Friday, January 17, 2025, from 3pm to 7pm at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St, Endwell, NY. A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, January 18, 2025, at 11am at the Church of the Holy Family, 3600 Phyllis St, Endwell, NY. A private internment will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, the family requests you make a donation to the Alzheimer's Association (in Memory of Penny) or the New York State Trooper Foundation. He will be fondly remembered for his kindness and generosity.
