Joseph A. Shidagis of Binghamton
Joseph A. Shidagis, 73, of Binghamton, went home to be with the Lord Monday, April 19, 2010 after a short illness. He is predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Rose Shidagis, one sister, Rosalie Swartz and one brother, John Shidagis. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Nancy, Binghamton; two daughters and sons-in-law, Luann and John Tokos, Brackney, PA; Jodi and Tom Smith, Binghamton; five wonderful grandchildren and their spouses, Joseph Haley, Jonathan (Tonya) Tokos, Misty (Justin) Guy, Autumn Tokos, and Joe Pesotine, Tiffany Smith and Dustin Yannuzzi; three great grandchildren, Kristian and Dustin Tokos, Gianna Yannuzzi; one sister, Vanna Swartz, Binghamton; one brother, Stanley Shidagis, PA; also several nieces and nephews; two sisters-in-law, and their spouses, Thedora (George) Clark, Beverly (Darrell) Barnhart; one brother-in-law and his wife, Charles (Linda) Rice; his grand doggie, Ginger and many good friends and family. Joe attended the Park Avenue Baptist Church, Binghamton and was an auto body repairman for over 50 years. He was a member of the Polka Paraders and the Crusin' Buddies Car Club. Joe restored a 1949 Chevy pickup. It was his pride and joy. He enjoyed picking Papinki.
A funeral service for Joe will be held 1 p.m. Friday, April 23, 2010 at the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home Inc. 300 East Main St. Endicott. The Rev. Julian Weil, Pastor of the Park Avenue Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery Endicott. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral home Thursday from 5-8 p.m. The family would like to thank the entire staff at Wilson Hospital for the excellent care they gave Joe.
