Obituary of Walter Leo McHale

Walter Leo McHale "Farmer" "Uncle Stinky" of Apalachin August 18, 1926- May 5, 2010 Walter Leo McHale, 83, of Apalachin, went to be with the Lord Wednesday, May 5, 2010. He was predeceased by his mother Anna Tomak, step sisters, Helen and Josie Tomak, step brother, Joseph Vargason; and his wife of over 50 years, Shirly. He is survived by his beloved family: son, Kenneth; niece and her husband, Pamela and Joseph Drum of Endicott; brother-in-law and wife, Jack and Helen Vargason of Vestal; and cousin and wife, Richard and Mary Ruggles. Walter was a former employee of IBM Owego for over 27 years. He enjoyed his eighty acre farm and the time he spent traveling the country with his wife. The family wishes to thank the Campville Fire Dept. and Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital. A memorial service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the Coleman & Daniels Funeral Home, Rt. 434 Apalachin. The family will receive friends 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
