Obituary of Vicki Gillen

Victoria Lynn (Treadwell) Gillen of Apalachin Victoria Lynn (Treadwell) Gillen, of Apalachin, NY, loving wife and mother, died Monday, May 31, 2010, after a most courageous battle with cancer with her husband by her side. Vicki is preceded in death by her father, Lucius (Luke) F. Treadwell Jr. Vicki is survived by her loving husband and best friend of 34 years, Philip Gillen; daughter, Nicole Lynn Gillen; her fiance, Albert Felker with his children, Amdis and Caly; son, Jonathan Phillip Gillen, his wife Alison; step children, Michelle, Colleen, Jeff Gillen and his wife, Fran; her mother, Phyllis A. (Nichols) Treadwell; brothers, Gary Treadwell, his wife, Connie, Jeff Treadwell, his wife Penny; and sister, Pegg Brink and her husband, Todd; nieces and nephews, Christopher, Courtney, Thomas, Leslie, Zachary and Alexis. Born June 1, 1956, Vicki attended and graduated from Vestal Central High School in 1974. After graduation she attended Syracuse School of Beauty were she meet the love of her life Phil. Vicki was a long time co-owner with her husband of the Hair Cienda Apalachin and more recently of Jon Cole Spa Vestal. She was a dedicated hair stylist and persistent in the professional care of each of her clients. Vicki had great love for her many pets, their Corvettes, and the Motorcycle rides with Phil and friends. Her husband, children and friends were a great comfort to her in her final weeks at home. Vicki did not get to say goodbye to all the people who have touched her life but she wanted everyone to know, "we've laughed, we've cried, we've shared and made memories." Those were the things that meant the most to her. Vicki wanted her last bike ride this is true, so to all her friends please take a ride and know that she'll be flying right along side of you. Vicki wished that you would all toast a good meal for her, enjoy, laugh out loud, and remember that you have all touched her life, her heart, and forever you will be remembered. A celebration of Vicki's life will be held Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 7PM from the Coleman and Daniels Funeral Home, St. Rt. 434, Apalachin. The Family will receive friends at the Funeral Home Saturday, from 4-7 PM.
